Who makes this
I'm Ziga, a developer in the EU. I build and run Geography Games on my own: the code, the artwork, the game ideas and the server bills.
New games arrive when they're ready, not on a schedule. A bug report or a correction goes straight to the person who can fix it, and I read everything you send.

You remember a place far better by trying to recall it than by reading about it. So every game gives you something to beat: a daily puzzle, a clock, a leaderboard or a friend.
Where the data comes from
Country names, capitals, flags, areas, populations and regions come from REST Countries. A copy is kept on this site, so the games stay fast and keep working if REST Countries goes down. The borders and coastlines come from Natural Earth, which is in the public domain, and they are served from this site too. The maps inside articles use OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles, built on OpenStreetMap data.
Articles in the Learn section are checked against published references such as encyclopedias, statistical agencies and official government pages. Each one lists its sources at the bottom, so you can check a number instead of taking my word for it. The free CSV datasets are built from those same checked lists.
How it's paid for
Everything here is free and I'd like to keep it that way. Hosting, the database and the data feeds cost real money, so the site shows ads, served by Journey by Mediavine. What ads mean for your data is spelled out in the privacy policy.
