Is there a time limit for naming all 50 states?
No, the timer counts up and your finish time is what matters. Most first-time players get somewhere in the forties; the last few states are famously hard to recall under pressure.
Which states do people forget most?
Small northeastern states like Delaware and Rhode Island, and lookalike pairs like the Dakotas and the Carolinas trip up the most players.

Yes. The State Capitals Quiz asks you to type all 50 capitals from memory, and each correct answer lights up its state on the map. It is noticeably harder than naming the states, because in most states the capital is not the biggest city.
What states does Route 66 go through?
Eight: Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Kansas is the one people forget, because the road only clips about 13 miles of its southeast corner. The Route 66 Quiz turns that into a map game, and the road turns 100 on 11 November 2026.
