How to play
- 1The pie shows the colors of a real flag. Each slice is as big as that color's share of the flag.
- 2Type a country. Its color match shows how close its flag's colors are to the pie. 100% is the right flag.
- 3Each miss adds a hint: the continent, the number of people, the first letter, then the capital.
- 4The daily gives you 6 guesses, and a new pie comes at midnight UTC. Unlimited has as many pies as you like.

Questions
How does Flag Pie work?
Each pie chart shows the colors of one country's flag. A slice is as big as the part of the flag that color covers, so a flag that is half red and half white makes a pie that is half red and half white. Type a country to guess. Its color match tells you how close its flag's colors are, and every miss adds a hint. You have six guesses.
How is the color match worked out?
The game compares the colors of the two flags and how much of each flag they cover. Each shade that has to change, and each share that doesn't line up, takes points off. A flag with the same colors in nearly the same amounts scores in the 80s or 90s, and a flag with other colors scores low. Only the right country, or a flag with exactly the same pie, gets 100%.
Why do some flags give 100%?
A few flags make the same pie, or one so close that nobody could tell them apart: Russia and Paraguay; Poland, Monaco and Malta; Bahrain and Peru; Bolivia and Senegal; Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam. A pie can't show which way the stripes run or the shape of a sun or a star. If the pie belongs to one of them, naming any of them counts as right.
Where do the colors come from?
We measured every flag picture the site uses, from Flagpedia's flagcdn.com. Colors that cover less than 0.6% of a flag, like thin outlines and small parts of an emblem, are counted with the nearest bigger color. The percentages are rounded to whole numbers.
How does the daily work?
There's one pie a day, the same for everyone, and a new one comes at midnight UTC. You get six guesses. If you reload the page or come back later, your guesses are still there. Solve it and you can put your name on today's top 10: fewer guesses rank higher, and a faster time breaks a tie.
Which flags are in the game?
All 197 countries: the 193 UN members plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan. In Unlimited you can play all of them or one continent.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The game fits on one phone screen: the pie, the box to type in, the hints and your guesses. On a computer, type a country and press Enter.
